E-Discovery, Records & Information Management Conference & Expo
DGI's 2011 E-Discovery, Records & Information Conference, held in conjunction with ARMA's Northern Virginia Chapter Meeting, delivered over 325 mostly government attendees, again making it one of the largest events on the topic. One attendee commented the conference provided "excellent speakers aware of current complicated situations, but able to communicate future needs."
John Mancini, President of AIIM International, (right) presented the opening keynote "Systems of Record and Systems of Engagement: The Records Management and E-Discovery Challenges Have Only Just Begun". "Excellent Presentation!" said one attendee. "John’s material was very effective in illustrating complex abstract concepts and making them concrete."
Joan Fina, Assistant General Counsel with the Federal Trade Commission (pictured at left on right side) and Vanessa Brinkmann, Counsel, Initial Request Staff with the Department of Justice discussed "Electronic FOIA: What you Need to Know". One attendee said "Very relevant to Federal Investigative Services."
John Blumenschien, Senior Attorney with Guidance Software (right) presented a session on Metadata, Load Files & Preservation: Recent Developments and Important Differences Between E-Discovery and Records Management and "provided relevant information on discovery and electronic records."
Principal Deputy General Counsel with the Federal Trade Commission, David Shonka (left) presented the popular session "Privacy Best Practices for E-Discovery and Records Management". "Thought-provoking," said one attendee. "Excellent points about privacy," commented another.
"A Paradigm Shift as E-Discovery and Records Management Converge" was presented by Kon Leong, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of ZL Technologies (left) who provided "great substantive and useful content." Commented another attendee "the presentation was interesting. Perhaps our agency can use his services in the future."
Joining the conference virtually was Jason R. Baron, Director of Litigation, NARA (left) who provided Three Suggested Improvements At The Nexus of E-Recordkeeping and E-Discovery.
